The United Arab Emirates is bracing for a stretch of sweltering summer temperatures in the upcoming days, as the mercury is predicted to soar up to 48°C in inland regions, according to weather forecasts. The National Centre of Meteorology has indicated that the country will experience stable weather, predominantly clear skies, and a mix of light to moderate winds, with little likelihood of major weather disturbances.
Inland areas are expected to endure temperatures between 44°C and 48°C this Friday, while coastal and island regions might see highs ranging from 36°C to 43°C. Meanwhile, the mountainous zones are projected to experience temperatures somewhere between 32°C and 39°C. The wind is expected to come from the southwest to northwest, moving at speeds of 10 to 20kph, and occasionally reaching gusts of 30kph. Sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman are anticipated to remain slight.
The hot and predominantly clear weather trend is likely to persist throughout the weekend. While low clouds might develop over parts of the eastern coast during the Saturday morning hours, winds could intensify at times, potentially reaching speeds of up to 40kph. A slight drop in temperatures is forecasted for Sunday as northwesterly winds gain strength, which might cause the Arabian Gulf to experience rougher conditions, though the Sea of Oman is expected to stay slight to moderate.
Similar weather patterns are predicted for Monday and Tuesday, featuring fair skies, occasional morning clouds along the eastern coast, and intervals of fresh winds. Sea conditions are expected to gradually improve as the week progresses. Meteorologists have noted that the UAE is transitioning into a period typical of early summer, characterized by very hot daytime temperatures, clear skies, and overall stable atmospheric conditions.
