The UAE is gearing up for hotter temperatures and increased humidity levels as the Eid Al Adha holiday approaches, according to recent forecasts. The National Center of Meteorology has indicated that the weather is expected to be generally fair to partly cloudy throughout the week, with a noticeable rise in temperatures marking the onset of the summer season.
A slight reprieve is anticipated on Sunday with a drop in temperatures and the possibility of fog or mist in some western and coastal areas during nighttime and early morning hours. However, starting Monday, which coincides with the beginning of the Eid holiday for government workers, the temperatures are set to climb again, ushering in hotter conditions typical of the UAE’s summer.
During the holiday period, temperatures in Al Ain are projected to reach approximately 43°C, while Fujairah could see highs of around 41°C. Light to moderate winds are expected, occasionally reaching speeds of up to 35 km/h. Nights and early mornings are likely to become more humid, particularly in coastal regions, although sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea are predicted to remain calm.
This gradual temperature increase signals the transition into the UAE’s summer season, following a relatively mild spring. In recent weeks, several regions have already experienced temperatures surpassing 40°C, highlighting the shift towards hotter weather. Summer in the northern hemisphere officially begins on June 21, according to astronomical calendars.
