On Wednesday morning, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan led Eid Al Adha prayers at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. Accompanied by senior leaders and officials, he participated alongside numerous worshippers in this significant religious occasion.
After the prayers, Sheikh Mohamed exchanged Eid greetings with attendees, celebrating the onset of the festival. The Eid sermon, delivered by Dr. Omar Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat, emphasized the crucial role of honesty in fostering trust, national unity, and social stability. He commended the UAE’s leadership for its dedication to strengthening the country through unity and commitment to national interests.
In a show of respect and remembrance, Sheikh Mohamed and the worshippers recited Al Fatiha in honor of the UAE’s Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Joining Sheikh Mohamed were prominent figures such as Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, and Sheikh Saif bin Zayed.
Throughout the Emirates, rulers and senior leaders took part in Eid prayers at major mosques, gathering with citizens and residents. In Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed performed prayers at Zabeel Grand Mosque, while in Sharjah, Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi joined worshippers at Sharjah Mosque. In Ajman, Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi attended prayers at Al Zaher Palace Mosque. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi offered prayers at Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Fujairah.
Further demonstrating the unity of the Emirates, Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla prayed at Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Mualla Mosque in Umm Al Quwain, and Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi participated in prayers at Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Mosque in Ras Al Khaimah. These gatherings marked the beginning of Eid Al Adha festivities, as thousands across the UAE came together at mosques to celebrate this important religious event.
