The United Arab Emirates is actively participating in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) ministerial meetings in Bahrain to bolster regional industrial cooperation. Led by Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, the UAE’s Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, the discussions aim to enhance supply-chain resilience and foster new investment opportunities within the GCC.
The meetings of the GCC Industrial Cooperation Committee and the Ministerial Committee for Standardization Affairs are being held from October 6 to 8, alongside the Made in GCC Forum and Exhibition 2026. These gatherings focus on promoting deeper industrial integration among GCC countries, utilizing advanced technologies, and increasing private-sector engagement in industrial projects.
A central topic of discussion is the application of artificial intelligence and advanced technologies to improve industrial productivity and competitiveness. The UAE is showcasing its national products and industrial technologies, which contribute to regional manufacturing, investment, technology, and supply-chain collaboration.
In addition to technological advancements, the discussions are addressing industrial financing, innovation, and infrastructure. Several memorandums of understanding are anticipated to be signed between UAE entities and GCC companies to expand industrial partnerships and enhance regional cooperation.
The UAE’s industrial exports reached Dh260 billion in 2025, with Dh92 billion stemming from medium- and high-technology sectors. The National In-Country Value (ICV) Programme has played a significant role in redirecting over Dh473 billion into the UAE economy, supporting local companies and strengthening domestic supply chains.
The UAE’s involvement in these Bahrain meetings underscores its commitment to building more robust industrial links across the GCC, aiming for a more integrated and competitive regional industrial sector. The collaborative efforts are expected to elevate the competitiveness of Gulf industries by pooling the capabilities of GCC nations and creating integrated regional value chains.
